Molino Quaglia is a long-standing family business, which was started in 1914 by Angelo Quaglia. Angelo, at the age of 13, left his family, who had been millers since 1856, and set up a small mill with stones on rafts propelled by the waters of the Andige River. In 1937, the mill was moved inland to Vighizzolo d d'Este near Padua, where, under the guidance of his son, Annito Quaglia, it was developed into an industrial-scale facility in 1947.
Since 1989, the company has been managed by the three brothers Lucio, Chiara and Andrea Quaglia, who have expanded and modernized the mill's activity. Today, Molino Quaglia has a state-of-the-art milling plant with a capacity of 400 tons per day and a fully equipped laboratory that controls and analyzes every aspect of wheat and flour quality.
In addition, there are three stone-milling machines operating within the factory, from which the famous Petra flour range is derived. The company established a vocational training school in 2000, which is housed in the old four-story family mill.
In 2014, the company established a futuristic vegetation plant in the nearby city of Este, which remains the only one in Europe to this day.
